My Random Ramblings

 I don't do any personal blogs about myself, I am a confident person yet i am not, i am open about who i am...yet i am not. We all have reasons for what we do and why.  I was 16 when our family moved from South Africa to Canberra, Australia, It was hard form me as a teenager because you leave all your friends behind and head off to start off a new life. Leaving as a child is a lot easier as you don't understand whats going on as much. Living in Canberra was interesting as the lifestyle was so much different and so are the people. I did not have many male friends growing up in Canberra and had a close group of girl friends which was interesting and new. I did have female cousins but that's different. Few things have happened recently that have made me think about my past. 

1. I read a blog by a friend Shybiker who makes me think and how i relate to things she blogs about.

2. While on Facebook a high school friend posted something and i had not heard from them in about five years, which got me thinking about my other friends. I could not find someone so i did some googling and found out they had been killed in a serious car crash, In 2003/4 i had a terrible car crash and could have lost my hand.We are not invincible as we think when we are younger.

3. Last night on my Instagram there is a section that checks your email address and any person you have ever emailed comes up. One of my high school friends came up and while looking at their pictures i liked an image then unliked it because i panicked. (crazy how a 31year old panicks about stupid crap)  I got my first job as a front counter person at Mc Donalds and that taught me the basics of upselling.  That basic skill has shown me what a true salesperson can do if they know a product and the accessories that go with it and also started my passion for sales.  Once you start to feel like you could get settled your family packs up and moves again. This time to Melbourne, the photo is from 2006 when Kim qualified as a Radiation Therapist. In Melbourne i worked in 12 different industries and had 2 businesses that never got off the ground, some people can do it and i am too disorganized but i will try again now i am older and possibly wiser.

Anyway the reason i am writing this is too thank all the amazing people i have met and who have helped me to become the person i am today and that my 20's taught me life skills with how to deal with lots of different experiences, some good and some bad. But that is life.

Random Pics

Over the last few weeks I have taken random photos and should have loaded them up. I haven't so i am just putting a few of them up now.

We live about 30 minutes from the beach so every now and again we go for a drive and a bit of a walk. This is Mordiallic and it has a lovely pier to walk down, you can watch people fish and just sit around and chat. 

We went to the grain store and had an amazing meal. It had an awesome selection of food and the coffee was good. It was good to go to a different place for a change.

I have wanted to go to Chez Dre for a while and we finally went. The desserts are fantastic and really different.  The coffee was acceptable, not the worst but not amazing either. I hate being fussy when it comes to coffee.

We had pizza with Kims sisters on the weekend and we went to Gradi in the Casino. I love their pizzas,

We took our old dog Penny for the day on Saturday, we don't see her much as she lives with Kims parents. We had her for a while when we moved out but she could not handle not having company all the time and it was not fair being in a small yard.  We took her to a friends place and they have a Shiba Inu called Nana. Penny does not know how to play with other dogs and never did, she just spends her time smelling random things. She is almost impossible to take for a walk as all she wants to do is smell stuff so she will lie on the grass and not move. Beagles are really stubborn.

I have not done a blog in a while and its me just being lazy. Also not much interesting stuff has happened until last night. We left our house at 5:45pm to go down to the shops for a walk. Being winter it is cold so we drove down and we left our driveway we could see someone lying down on the opposite side of the road with a few people around him. We thought he had been hit by a car because people now days just don't pay attention. Too busy listening to their ipods

or phones, we got to the shops and heard the police and ambulances driving past. There was no way we could get home so we went and had cheap food for dinner.

I wanted Congee (recipe)  for a while so finally had it for dinner, congee is a thick  rice porridge that is cooked over an hour normally and you have different meats with it and a doughnut. I had chicken.

After dinner we went a different road home and most of our street had been blocked with news reporters and plenty of police. We spoke to the news crew and found out the guy lying on the road had been shot and then taken to hospital in a critical condition. We went to bed at 11pm and they where still there taking photos. Sadly the person passed away after being shot. News report

I left for work this morning and there was even more reporters, we had an interesting night at our house.
